The vice chair of Slovakia’s Anti-Monopoly Office (PMÚ), Daniela Zemanovičová, will leave her post at the end of the month, PMÚ spokesperson Alena Sedláková told the TASR newswire on March 28.
Sedláková refused to say whether Zemanovičová, who has held the post since 2004, was dismissed or is leaving of her own accord. The spokesperson did not comment either when asked if Zemanovičová's departure had anything to do with Smer's plans to merge PMÚ and the Supreme Audit Office (NKÚ).
"It will be up to the government to decide on that matter and PMU will respect its decision," said Sedláková.
Smer MP Ľubomír Jahnátek was not able to give a clear answer when asked about the progress made in the merger negotiations. "I won't tell you anything because I don't know. I don't attend the negotiations as I'm not on the PMÚ board," the MP said.
