FOUR villages located near the future car production park Kia might not get any regional state help. After its decision to expropriate the land needed for the plant, the government also stopped financial help to the villages in the amount of Sk200 million (€5 million), wrote the daily Hospodárske.

According to the general manager of the Hyundai/Kia project, Stanislav Vinc, the decision to cease financial help is not irreversible even though the expropriation process has started.

He thinks there is still time for negotiation with the government. If the mayor is able to politically influence the citizens to sell their land, the government may still revise its decision.
