EASTERN-Slovak town Levoča’s annual summer folklore festival Days of Master Paul, which includes the Carpathian Crafts’ Market, culminated on the weekend of August 15-17 with a surprise highlight: a parade of 18 vintage Jaguar cars.
The cars travelled by train from Prague to Poprad for a tour around the Tatra region, with a stop in Levoča.
The Carpathian Crafts’ Market featured up to 90 folk artisans who displayed their skills for the visitors. Levoča mayor Miroslav Vilkovský noted that this year of the event was marked by a dire fiscal situation, but that the administration decided to continue the tradition anyway, albeit more modestly: instead of the previous €40-50,000, the town had a mere €12,000 to spend on the festival.
