Virgin Records co-founder Nik Powell to take part in Artfilm Festival

Producer and scriptwriter Nik Powell, co-founder of Virgin, one of the world's most influential entertainment groups, plans to organize a workshop as part of the 15th Artfilm International Film Festival which will take place between June 22-30 in Trenčín and Trenčianske Teplice.

The workshop, entitled "Eleven Fatal Mistakes Usually Made by Young Scriptwriters in Europe" and geared toward students of both drama and scriptwriting, will be held on June 24 in the Most Slávy Hotel in Trenčianske Teplice.

Nik Powell founded Virgin Records with Richard Branson in 1972 and managed to turn a small music mail-order service into a major concern within ten years. In 1982, Powell and Stephen Woolley founded Place Productions, where Powell worked as executive producer for all films made by the company. In 2003, Powell took up the post of director of the National Film and Television School in London.
