The Visegrad Group (V4) consisting of Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary, which is marking its 20th anniversary in 2011, will have a prominent place at the sixth GLOBSEC 2011 global security forum to take place in Bratislava between March 2-4, the PR department of the Slovak-Atlantic Commission, organiser of the event, told the TASR newswire on February 20.
The forum will coincide with a meeting of the foreign affairs ministers of the V4 countries and the Eastern Partnership. In addition, Hungary is currently chairing the Council of the European Union, with Poland taking over this role in the latter half of the year.
The state secretaries of the defence ministries of Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Great Britain and a number of academics and representatives of NGOs from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean will also attend the event. The 2011 forum will be the largest so far, with around 70 high-profile speakers expected, the organisers stated.
