Blind and visually-impaired musicians from all over Slovakia showed off their talent at a series of concerts that are traditionally held every two years. The last performance in this cycle, and the climax of the event, was the concert held in Bratislava at Eurovea Square, near the new Slovak National Theatre, on August 20.
The goal of the series of concerts – organised by the Slovak Blind and Partially-Sighted Union, a national NGO – is to give visually-impaired musicians an opportunity to perform in public, as music is often the most common artistic endeavour that blind or visually-impaired persons pursue. After the concerts in Prešov, Žilina and Banská Bystrica, the audience in Slovakia’s capital enjoyed a first-rate concert of classical, modern and folk music, the TASR newswire reported. Also performing in Bratislava were the NH6 group and the brother duo of Noro and Heňo, who had recently competed in the TV contest ČeskoSlovensko má talent.
