Volkswagen Slovakia launched production of its new cross up! model at its Bratislava plant on Thursday, May 30, the TASR newswire reported, citing company spokesman Vladimír Machalík.

"The lifestyle family of Volkswagen's cross cars is thereby being extended by the smallest Volkswagen being produced in Bratislava," said the spokesman. The production of the cross up! has required technological adjustments on assembly lines, as specific production processes needed to be incorporated. The plant in Bratislava also produces the carmaker's fellow small family car series 'up!' and 'eco up!'
