The Smer party has maintained its position as the largest party in the Slovak Parliament following elections held on June 12, according to the results of a phone poll conducted by the Focus polling agency for news television TA3.
According to the poll, Smer leads with 29.7 percent, followed by the Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ) with 18.1 percent. Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) comes third with 11.6 percent, followed by Christian Democratic Movement (KDH), which has so far received 9.1 percent.
Other parties on course to pass the five percent threshold and thus enter parliament, based on the Focus agency exit poll, are: Most-Híd (6.7 percent), Hungarian Coalition Party (SMK) - (6.3 percent), Slovak National Party (SNS) (6.1 percent).
However, the Focus poll suggests that Movement for a Democratic Slovakia (HZDS) – 4.3 percent, will not make it into parliament, according to a phone poll by Focus conducted for TA3.
