The Most-Híd party is showing interest in not only the agriculture ministry but also in the ministries of health and environment and is eyeing the post of deputy prime minister for human rights and minorities, the SITA newswire wrote.
SITA said the nomination of Zsolt Simon to the post of agriculture minister is more or less certain at the moment. The party will also purportedly offer parliamentary deputy and Komárno Mayor Tibor Bastrnák for post of health minister. However, he could also take up the state secretary post at the ministry as well. The post of the environment minister might go to businessman and senior representative of Most-Híd, László Solymos, while László Nagy or Rudolf Chmel are likely candidates for the post of the deputy prime minister for human rights in the new cabinet.
Parties of the centre-right coalition have not made any specific announcements, saying that it is not the top priority. At the moment, the program committee that met on June 16 for the first time is working on a programme statement that should be finished by June 21.
In addition to the post of prime minister, the Slovak Democratic and Christian Union(SDKÚ) has expressed interest in the Interior Ministry; a post desired also by Christian Democrats (KDH), which would like to see its Deputy Chairman Daniel Lipšic in the post. According to information from KDH circles, they see SDKÚ's interest in this post as only a cover manoeuvre so that they can later negotiate a better position within other nominations.
SDKÚ should get the posts of prime minister, economy or transport minister, foreign affairs minister and justice minister, SITA wrote. KDH is interested also in the Transport Ministry and one of the social ministries. SaS expressed interest in positions at the ministries of finance, culture, and labour, social affairs and family.
