VOTERS have a clear picture of which parties should cooperate with one another after the next election. A poll conducted by the MVK agency for the daily SME found that about 40 of percent of respondents think that social issues should be at the top of a new cabinet's agenda.
Supporters of the current ruling coalition parties - the Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ), the Hungarian Coalition Party (SMK), and the Christian Democratic Union (KDH) want these parties to work together after the elections. Voters for the opposition Smer party do not have a clear favourite partner for their party but most of them sympathize with the Free Forum (SF). Voters for the Movement for a Democratic Slovakia Party (HZDS) would wish Smer to become an HZDS partner. About 50 percent of respondents think the party they prefer should not cooperate with the New Citizen's Alliance.
