“Our readers often complain they cannot manage to return the books on time – and they get small warning messages and small fines for that,” library head Emília Antolíková said. “Thus, we decided to make an accommodating step and to arrange for a biblio-box which enables them to return the books 24/7, so it is a non-stop service,” she added.

Other libraries with biblio-boxes in Slovakia include those in Bratislava, Trnava, Ružomberok, Poprad and Prešov. The University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra has also installed a biblio-box in the city centre, so from September 17 readers will be able to return their books borrowed from the University Library in the main university building and not at the library which lies outside downtown.
