AHEAD of the election of the Supreme Court president scheduled for September 16 the Fair-Play Alliance (AFP) non-governmental watchdog group called on the Judicial Council members to publish how they voted in the election.
The second round of the election, taking place after the council failed to elect the Supreme Court president to replace Štefan Harabin, whose term expired in June, will be held as a secret ballot, as the parliament changed the rules in the meantime.
The AFP is however convinced that the election results should be open to the public.
“Citizens should have the right to know what the values the individual members of this highest self-administration body in the judiciary are,” AFP’s head Zuzana Wienk said.
