The Whirlpool firm plans to move production of 150,000 washing machines annually from its new site in Poland to Slovakia, increasing output at its Poprad factory from 1.5 now to 2 million machines a year and jobs from 600 to 840.
Whirlpool Slovakia this year also moved production of high-standard washing machines from Amiens in France to its Poprad factory. The new move will make the firm the largest home appliances manufacturer in central and eastern Europe.
