A domestic row in the Slovak city of Nitra ended in dramatic scenes on Friday afternoon, 8 August, when a woman began hurling her partner’s belongings from their sixth-floor flat onto the street below.
Clothes, a computer monitor and other household items rained down onto the pavement and road on Hornotabánska Street in the city centre shortly after 14:00. No one was injured.
Municipal police said the woman’s actions were the result of “a disagreement between her and her partner”.
When officers arrived, they found a man in his thirties standing in the hallway outside the flat. Moments later, the woman opened the door, confirmed he was her partner, and told him to move out.
By then, a national police patrol had also arrived. The woman allowed the man to re-enter the flat to collect his belongings – including those scattered across the street.
The police said the woman was fined €20 for “polluting a public space”.
