DOPRASTAV, the company that has built Bratislava’s fifth bridg across the Danube, the Apollo bridge, reported that work has been completed.
The official opening ceremony will be on September 4 and the bridge will be open to the public the next day, the TASR news agency reported.
The state budget, as well as the European Investment Bank, helped finance the Sk4.3 billion (€110 million) project.
Originally the investment expenditures for the bridge were calculated at Sk3.6 billion (€92 million) but after the VAT rate went up to 19 percent in 2004 and after the price indexes for construction works increased, expenditures reached the Sk4.3 billion.
