SLOVAKIA should concentrate on meeting the criteria for introducing the euro in 2009, especially inflation, and on sustaining its record economic growth, according to a recent report by the World Bank.
The bank also called on Slovakia to continue with its reforms.
“Provided that Slovakia does not want to sleep on its laurels, it has to continue the current reforms and improve those that have already been approved,” said the bank’s economist for Slovakia, Anton Marcinčin.
In his opinion, Slovakia’s three main economic problems are inflation, the budget deficit, and the stability of the currency.
