World Cup 2010: Slovakia's first match ends in a tie

SLOVAK team's World Cup premiere against New Zealand ended in a tie, 1:1. Slovakia's Róbert Vittek scored first in the 50th minute of the match and Slovaks rejoiced until almost the end of the match. Winston Reid of New Zealand scored 30 seconds before the end of the match. Slovakia and New Zealand thus get one point each.

Slovakia plays in the F group of the tournament, as well as New Zealand, Paraguay and Italy. Slovaks will play their second match in the group with Paraguay on Sunday June 20 at 1:30 pm. Slovakia's last match in the group, against Italy, is scheduled for Thursday June 24 at 4 pm.
