World Touring Car Championship comes to Slovakia in April

The Slovakia Ring race track in Orechová Potôň, 36 kilometres southeast of Bratislava, will host an event of the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) on April 28 and 29 for the first time ever in Slovakia giving Slovaks the opportunity to watch a race of this category from terraces, the Slovakia Ring racetrack informed the media.

The WTCC series is organised by the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile of the International Car Federation (FIA) together with Formula 1, the World Rally Championship, the GT1 Grand Touring and the World Endurance Championship (WEC).

Other tracks on the circuit are in Italy, Morocco, Brazil, the United States, Japan, China and Macau. The Slovakia Ring offers an opportunity for individuals to drive on a racing ring, to watch weekend races and to improve their driving skills within its Driving Academy.

With its length of 5,922 metres, the Slovakia Ring is among the longest in Europe.
