Year-on-year inflation remains at historical minimum

The year-on-year growth of consumer prices remains at its historically lowest levels, the SITA newswire wrote. According to data from the Slovak Statistics Office, inflation in February was 0.4 percent on an annual basis, which is the same figure as in January. Consumer prices did not change in monthly terms.

Core inflation, which monitors consumer prices without regulated prices and administrative interventions into prices in the area of taxes, was 0.4 percent in February, the same as January levels. On a monthly basis, core inflation reached 0.2 percent in February.

Net inflation, which does not take into account food prices, stayed at January's 1.1 percent on an annual basis. In a monthly comparison, net inflation dropped from 0.2 percent in January to zero, the SITA newswire wrote. SITA
