FORTY-EIGHT percent of Slovaks between the ages of 18 and 29 are willing to move abroad to take up a good job offer, according to an MVK agency poll for the daily SME.
The poll, conducted between December 19 and December 29 on a sample of 1,132 respondents, revealed that 23.7 percent of young Slovaks are willing to move within the EU, while 24 percent said that they are prepared to go anywhere.
Sociologist Zuzana Kusá from the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAV) thinks that these results should worry Slovak politicians even more than the country's low birth rate.
The poll also showed that overall, 44 percent of Slovaks would be willing to move abroad for work, while 28 percent would not. A further 24 percent are pensioners.
