The results of the last survey showed that the number of girls and boys who drink alcohol has increased. Slovakia’s boys are in sixth place and girls in fifth place among young alcohol consumers in Europe, TASR news agency wrote.

However, the number of drug addicts has fallen in Slovakia. The majority of drug consumers are young people between 23 and 27.

Around 2,000 schools took part in the “War against Drugs Week” campaign, which started November 15 in Bratislava. Slovakia has allocated around Sk80 million (€2 million) to combat drug abuse this year.
