OTO ŽARNAY, former teacher of the Business Academy in Polárna Street in Košice, and Ján Mičovský of Ordinary People and Independent Personalities (OĽaNO) have filed a criminal complaint over allegations of wasteful spending at a Košice school.
They cite an inspection carried out by the Main Auditor of Košice Region that has confirmed corrupt and wasteful spending of nearly €80,000 earlier this year, the SITA newswire reported.
Žarnay, who lost his job after he had pointed to the misuse money, said this is his third complaint. The police have dismissed the previous two.
Though the Košice city counsellors and representatives of the region acknowledged the report in February, nobody was punished. Žarnay said that after learning this he was disillusioned, disgusted and disappointed.
“We made a step that should have been done by someone else,” he said, as quoted by SITA, adding that the fact this had not happened confirms “that the corruption has a branched mycelium in Košice”.
“The headmaster of business academy is still on his post and Žarnay is still without job,” Mičovský told SITA.
Žarnay added he will wait for the decision of Education Minister Dušan Čaplovič who will send ministerial inspection to the school, as well as for the decision of Trebuľa. If they offer him the job in his school, he will return there, he said, as reported by SITA.
