RegioJet will dispatch special trains for the ice hockey championship

Private carrier RegioJet will dispatch the Sport Express special additional trains between Bratislava and Prague. They will be designed to transport ice hockey fans attending the matches held during the May 2019 ice hockey world championship in the Slovak capital.

The tickets are already on sale, and can be purchased on the website or at the sales points of RegioJet and the Student Agency, the company informed.

Trains will change departure based on a match

Prices of tickets

  • Low-cost: €20

  • Standard: €21

  • Relaxation: €27

  • Business: €28

The trains will leave Bratislava-Nové Mesto station, which is situated the closest to Ondrej Nepela Ice Hockey Stadium, at 23:18. They will then stop in Brno (00:48), Pardubice (2:13) and Prague (3:15) stations. The train will not stop at the Bratislava main station, the company stressed.

In case the match will be prolonged, the times will change so fans will be able to move to the train station. They will be informed about the changed times through a text message. This is why passengers will be asked to provide their phone number when booking a ticket.

The additional train sets will offer more than 300 seats. There will be wagons with ordinary service in four classes: Low-cost, Standard, Relaxation and Business. The services offered during the ride will include free drinks and internet connection.

Trains will be dispatched on:

  • May 5

  • May 13

  • May 16

  • May 21

  • May 23

  • May 25

  • May 26

The reservation includes free seat reservation, RegioJet informed.

Other trains can be used

Apart from the special trains, there will be ordinary trains running between Bratislava and the Czech Republic. They operate four times a day in both directions. There will also be the possibility of traveling by buses operated by RegioJet.

Moreover, there are three pairs of trains running between the Czech Republic and Košice on a daily basis, including night trains.
