For the first time in more than 20 years, Slovakia is hosting a major football event. From June 11 to 28, the country will welcome the 25th edition of the UEFA European Under-21 Championship. It’s the second time Slovakia is hosting the tournament—the first was in 2000.
This year marks a first: all 16 participating teams are based in a single host country. Matches will be played in eight Slovak cities—Bratislava, Trnava, Dunajská Streda, Trenčín, Nitra, Žilina, Prešov and Košice. Organizers expect around 50,000 fans from across Europe.
Tickets are priced the same across all cities. A regular group-stage match ticket costs €12 (second category) or €15 (first category). VIP tickets are available for €149.
Prices go up slightly for the knockout stage, with quarter-finals and semi-finals priced at €16, €20, and €179 (VIP), and the final match at €20, €25, and €199 (VIP). Only tickets purchased via the official tournament website or through authorised partner Slovak Lines are valid.

Opening match in Bratislava
The tournament kicks off on Wednesday at 18:00 in Bratislava’s Tehelné Pole stadium, where host Slovakia will face Spain. The game is sold out, with around 22,000 fans expected.
Slovakia at the UEFA European Under-21 Championship
Slovakia’s under-21 national team has qualified for the UEFA European Championship three times — in 2000, 2017, and 2025.
Their best result came in their debut year, 2000, when, as hosts, they reached the semi-finals.
Three more matches will take place on the same evening at 21:00: Italy vs. Romania in Trnava, Portugal vs. France in Trenčín, and Poland vs. Georgia in Žilina. Tickets are still available for these games.
