Bratislava places in top 10 Eastern European airports

Budapest tops the latest ranking.

Milan Rastislav Štefánik Airport in Bratislava once again placed among the top ten airports in Eastern Europe. According to the newest edition of the Skytrax - World Airport Awards list, it ranked 10th in the category.

"I highly appreciate the fact that M.R. Štefánik Airport has gained recognition from the world's most prestigious airport rating programme thanks to customer reviews," says director Dušan Novota, as quoted by the TASR newswire.

"I'm glad that our services were positively evaluated, which at the same time motivates us to constantly improve and expand our customer services and comfort," Novota adds.

The Bratislava airport, the largest in the country, is the only Slovak airport that features in the recent ranking. The best one in the Eastern European area is in Budapest, followed by airports in Tallinn and Riga.

The World Airport Awards, which began 1999, are considered a quality benchmark for the world airport industry. According to the newswire, millions of travellers of more than 100 nationalities annually participate in the survey of the best airports in the world.

Passengers filled in questionnaires between August 2023 and March 2024, evaluating more than 570 airports around the world, expressing their satisfaction with check-in, arrivals and departures, shopping options, security and passport checks.
