Cable car exhibited in the square of Liptovský Mikuláš attracts visitors to museum in newly opened exhibition.

A new attraction has appeared in the square of Liptovský Mkuláš – cable car to Chopok from 1949 with a side seat. It is luring visitors of the Liptov region to the Janko Kráľ Museum in Liptovský Mikuláš to the new Via Lens exhibition of Alojz Lutonský.

He is behind the initiative of building the first cable car in the Low Tatras and he was a pioneer of Tatra tourism.

“We are glad to locate this monument at least temporarily in front of the building of the town’s museum,” said current head of the museum, Jaroslav Hric, as quoted by the SITA newswire.

The location is not coincidental. Alojz Lutonský was also head of the museum in the years 1963 and 1969. The new exhibition is accessible for the public until August 31.
