In the municipalities of Čerhov, Veľká Tŕňa, Malá Tŕňa and Viničky – which are all winemaking centres of the Slovak Tokaj region – a traditional celebration took place the last weekend in May. In Malá Tŕňa, an observation tower 12 metres tall was built and opened on May 30, after dusk it was lighted. The event “There is Just one Tokaj / Tokja je len jeden” is part of a project aimed at developing the wine tourism in this region, worth €1.2 million from the Programme of Swiss-Slovak Cooperation. The goal is to expand the wine brand from this region also to other local products and to enhance the offer for visitors, improve services and attract tourists for longer stays, the Trebišovský Korzár regional newspaper wrote.
