The Slovak villages of Pečovská Nová Ves and Ľutina (in eastern Slovakia, in the Sabinov District) have joined forces with a Polish partner and asked for support from the European Fund of Regional development for the “Spiritual Tradition Connects Our Paths” project.
Its aim is to develop religious tourism in the Dolina Čergova valley by expanding the collection of miniature replicas of traditional wooden churches, called “cerkev”, or cerkvy in Slovak.

The project will include a mini-open-air-museum, built in the complex of Basilica Minor in Ľutina, the only Greek-Catholic basilica in Slovakia, Pečovská Nová Ves mayor Slavomír Karabinš said, as quoted by the TASR newswire.
Currently, several dozens of miniature replicas are already there. The replicas – in 1 to 10 ratio – of wooden churches from the Vyšný Komárnik border crossing to the town of Sieniawa should appear in Ľutina. And a similar complex with replicas of 10 wooden churches that lie from Ľutina towards Vyšný Komárnik, should be placed in the Polish village of Leźachów.
Slovak project investors will also foresee the construction of a two-line cycling path three metres wide, with a tarmac surface, starting from the I/68 road, through Ľutinská Street in Pečovská Nová Ves to the Marian Hill in Ľutina. It should be 4.4 kilometres long, Karabinoš added.
Also, two tourist stopping points shall be added in both villages, with a glass display case containing miniature replicas of wooden churches from Polish villages Leźachów and Rudka.
