On the historical route between Trenčianska Teplá and Trenčianske Teplice, passengers can enjoy old-fashioned rides every weekend, Ľubomír Bobák of the Office of Trenčín Region told the TASR newswire. He said that the electric train will run on the narrow-gauge railways each Saturday and Sunday, leaving from the depot in Trenčianska Teplá at 10:00, 14:00, 16:00 and 18:00 and on the return ride from Trenčianske Teplice one hour later. The last ride is from Trenčianske Teplice at 19:30.
The most recent nostalgic train ride before the summer schedule began was on International Children’s Day (June 1) , when, during a single day, nearly 700 passengers were transported by the electric train.
The historical trains and the regular summer schedule of the Trenčín Electrical Railway are supported by Trenčín Region, which contributes €25,000 per year. Last summer, the historical trains were used by more than 6,200 passengers, TASR wrote.
