Interior Ministry: 150 people granted asylum this year
In 2016, a total of 21 people have applied for asylum; in the same period of time, 150 people's applications were granted while 15 were rejected. Slovakia also offered complementary protection to two people, while three were denied it.
Teacher gets 3-year suspended sentence for sexual abuse of minor
Former teacher Dana Kováčová, charged with sexual abuse of a minor, was sentenced by the appellate Prešov Regional Court on May 11 to a suspended three-year sentence with five years’ probation, and has been banned from teaching for seven years.
