Courier company Packeta plans to expand in the coming months, reports SITA newswire. Up to 1,000 new "Z-BOX" self-service pick-up points will be added across Slovakia to the already existing 1,600 within six months. The company also has some 2,700 pick-up points.

The goal is to allow Packeta customers to get their parcels with greater ease. The expansion will bolster the company's position on the Slovak market.

According to Packeta CEO Alexander Jančo, delivery to Z-BOXes is becoming increasingly popular, surpassing even delivery to an address.

"Last year, we increased the capacity of Z-BOXes by adding new mailboxes in many of the already existing delivery points. Now we want to add completely new locations so that this option of delivery is available to people at almost every corner," says Jančo, adding that sites are being looked for in cooperation with towns and municipalities.

In addition, developers of new projects and stores that would like to have a Z-BOX on their premises are contacting the company.
