The Slovak crown on February 14 strengthened 30 haliers (0.7 per cent) against its euro reference currency on news the Deputy Prime Minister for Economy, Ivan Mikloš, had kept his job in a parliamentary confidence vote the night before. Domestic money market dealers said the currency also tested record strengths against the euro on February 20 after a deal was reached on a major privatisation - a 49 per cent stake in gas utility SPP.
