THE TOWN of Detva has obtained Sk221 million (€5.9 million) from the European Union's structural funds and will use the money for the reconstruction of an industrial zone, creating 538 jobs in the next few months.
Under a deal signed with the investment support agency SARIO, Detva will spend the money to restore derelict plots of land and factories at a former machine plant in the city, the TASR newswire wrote.
Four investors are set to invest Sk204 million into reconstructing the area and turning it into an industrial park as of February 2008.
The future industrial park is conveniently situated and will be linked to an international road corridor.
