The Slovak company InoBat has launched innovative battery cell production in Voderady near Trnava, making Slovakia the fifth European country, after Sweden, Norway, Germany and France, to produce certified cells with European know-how, reports the TASR newswire.
"We don't just manufacture cells, we also create and tailor them to the needs of each customer. This procedure requires extraordinary knowledge and special skills, and I'm proud that we've managed to build it in Slovakia," said InoBat general director Marián Boček, as quoted by the newswire.
The maximum line capacity is 50,000 battery cells per year. It consists of 35 machines and uses the most modern high-speed layering technology.
InoBat has hired dozens of additional operators and maintenance technicians in the past few months. In addition, it employs an international team of experts from 18 countries. According to Boček, the company wants to educate experts and professionals as well.
The company also obtained all the necessary certificates and began the production of the first high-performance cells for the aviation industry.
Together with the Chinese company Gotion High-Tech, InoBat plans to open a giga-factory in the town of Šurany, Nitra Region. The goal is to build a factory with a zero carbon footprint, which would be not only the most modern in Europe, but also at the global level. Over 1,500 people will work at the factory expected to fully launch in 2026.
