EUROTEL is no more. The company completed its re-branding to T-Mobile at the beginning of May, becoming the ninth member of the T-mobile group, the SITA news agency reported.

"During the last three weeks we changed the company's trademark, all marketing visuals, the company's Web page and 240 point-of-sale outlets to match T-Mobile's official corporate design," said T-Mobile director Robert Chvátal.

The re-branding came following the recently completed acquisition of a 49-percent stake in EuroTel by Slovak Telecom. EuroTel has thus become a 100-percent subsidiary of Slovak Telecom, whose majority holder is Deutsche Telekom. T-Mobile is a mobile division of Deutsche Telekom.

In Slovakia, T-Mobile's competitor changed its brand name to Orange in 2002.
