This part-time office assistant position is ideal for students looking to develop their professional skills while contributing to a variety of unique projects in an international environment. Several of our current team members began as student assistants – today, they are an essential part of The Slovak Spectator.
What you’ll do:
As an office assistant, you will support both the editorial and sales teams, and help manage day-to-day office operations. Depending on your strengths and interests, you may also contribute to specific projects or publications.
Key responsibilities include:
Monitoring the company’s general email inbox and forwarding messages to the appropriate team members
Answering phone calls and emails related to your tasks
Managing office supply orders and supporting daily office operations
Preparing and sending outgoing mail
Communicating with selected clients
Collecting data from companies for specialised publications and rankings
Managing project timelines and ensuring deadlines are met
Assisting with the preparation and updates of annual publications
Supporting the team with additional tasks as needed
What we’re looking for:
A native Slovak speaker with solid English skills (minimum B1/B2 level)
Based in Bratislava
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Well-organised and reliable, with the ability to meet deadlines
Proactive and eager to learn
Available to work 10–15 hours per week, with flexibility during busier periods
What we offer:
€6.50/hour during the probation period
€7/hour after the probation period
Opportunity to earn commission on select projects linked to special publication sales
Hands-on experience with real-world projects in a well-established media company
