THE ANTI-MONOPOLY Office is looking closely at increases in charges for using cash machines. Clients of
the three largest Slovak banks, Slovenská sporiteľňa, VÚB, and Tatra banka, now have to pay up to Sk34 (€0.81)
to withdraw cash from machines owned by other banks.
The reason for the increase, a rise in charges by the Bank Card Association, is also shared by other banks whose
charges have remained much lower.
The top banks insist that they are not acting as a cartel.
