THE REGISTERED jobless rate in Slovakia dropped to 9.27 percent at the end of October, down 0.48 percentage points compared the previous month, according to the National Labour Bureau.
This is the lowest unemployment rate seen in Slovakia since the fall of Communism in 1989.
The registered unemployment rate, which is calculated from the number of job seekers registered with labour offices who are able to take a job immediately, has been falling since January this year, when the figure was 11.82 percent.
The number of people registered as unemployed and able to take work immediately was 237,144 at the end of October, 12,302 fewer than in September, and down 45,678 from October 2005.
