THE JAPANESE company Minebea announced that it will invest Sk120 million (€3 million) in Slovakia to operate a plant that will produce character imprints for computer keyboards in the Bratislava district of Rača.
The Slovak daily Pravda wrote that the project would first create 60 new jobs, and later add another 100.
The company will start production in August and plans to produce 0.5 million keyboard imprints a month.
Daishiro Konomi, the company's general director for Europe, said that Minebea might consider moving another operation, currently based in Germany, to the central European state if the Slovak operation proves successful.
