With 975,447 passengers processed, there were almost 14,869 landings and departures combined. This is 7 percent more than in the same period last year. At the same time the airport handled 12,796 tonnes of freight, also up by 7 percent year-on-year, the TASR newswire wrote.

“Operational results of the Bratislava airport posted positive figures for the seventh month in a row,” said the airport’s general director Ivan Trhlík, as quoted by TASR. “Despite the geopolitical situation – having, unfortunately, adverse effects on the summer charter season – we expect that the overall increase of handled passengers in 2016 will reach a double-digit percentage figure, like last year.”

The airport handled almost 257,814 passengers in July, up by 2 percent y/y, with almost 2,983 landings and departures, and 1,881 tonnes of processed cargo.
