PLASTIC Omnium Auto Exterior has leased a new production plant in the Trnava industrial park on a long-term basis. The company said the new plant will enable it to supply the local plant of auto-maker PSA Peugeot Citroen more effectively, the SITA newswire wrote on September 24.
The company is renting the plant from Immo Industry Group (IIG) and its Slovak partner J&T Real Estate, which constructed it. IIG has not disclosed the volume of investment in the new plant. Construction of the new premises began at the end of August and the plant currently employs 27 people.
The plant has an area of 1,900 square metres. Office premises cover 150 square metres. “The project for Plastic Omnium is an example of how it is possible on a small area to reach high effectiveness and productivity,” stated IIG CEO Radovan Brtiš. According to him, Plastic Omnium should produce as many as 200,000 car bumpers annually.
Plastic Omnium Auto Exterior is the second largest producer of plastic components and modules for car bodies in the world and the European leader in production of thermally shaped plastic components. The company has 47 production plants and 19 development centres around the world.
