For the next two Saturdays, May 25 and June 1, trams will not run in Bratislava’s borough of Rača due to planned power cuts in the Krasňany tram substation.
The route that Tram 3 runs on will be shortened, running from Jungmannova in the Petržalka borough to the Vinohrady Train Station, the Bratislava Public Transport Company (DPB) announced on Thursday without apologising to passengers. From the station, passengers will have to hop on the X3 bus, which will run as frequently as trams to Rača.
After getting off the tram at Vinohrady, the navigation boards will direct passengers to the right bus stop, which will be located in front of the Krasňany Depot, near the station. Because of these changes, the Krasňany Depot bus stop for Bus 51, which passengers use when getting off the bus, will be temporarily moved to the tramline.
Bus X3’s final stop will be at Tbiliská. It will start at Depo Krasňany (E). Here’s how passengers will get from the Vinohrady station to Depo Krasňany (E).
Pri mlyne road stretch to close for the weekend
Moreover, construction work to extend the D1/D4 motorway from Bratislava to the Triblavina motorway crossroads will result in the closure of several road stretches on May 25 and 26, due to the transfer and placing of girders on a bridge.
The temporary closure will concern a 270-metre stretch, the Pri mlyne road, which stretches from the Senecká cesta road to a level crossing in Bratislava’s Vajnory borough.
The National Highway Company has said that it continues to work on the construction of detour routes, while building the motorway.
“These new branches will initially be used to divert the transit traffic during the process of the raising, upgrading and widening of the D1 motorway. Later on, they will serve as full-fledged branches, diverting the traffic from the D1 to the D1/D4 intersection,” said the company.
