Russian crude oil supplies to Slovakia via the Druzhba pipeline were cut off after the Kremlin launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine on Tuesday.
Russia fired around a hundred missiles at critical infrastructure facilities in Ukraine during the attack, leaving more than 7 million households without electricity.
One of the missiles hit a transformer near the Belarusian border, affecting supplies through the Druzhba pipeline which brings oil to to Slovakia for processing by the Bratislava refinery Slovnaft.
According to the Hungarian company MOL (Slovnaft's parent company), damage to the transformer left the pipeline's pumps, without power, the Index business magazine reported.
No crude oil leaked from the pipeline.
