TWELVE members of the Slovak Pulp and Paper Industry Association (ZCPP) will contribute around Sk75 million to the non-state Recycling Fund this year, says ZCPP secretary general Juraj Dlhopolček.
From January 2002, each producer and importer of potential waste paper must contribute to the Recycling Fund. Fees of Sk600 per ton will be applied to an estimated 240,000 tons of products this year. According to Dlhopolček, the fund will be used to help pay for waste paper recycling and transport; processing firms will also be able to draw from the fund to pay for operating or investment costs related to processing and recycling waste paper.
Dlhopolček also said contributions to the fund should reach Sk140 million this year, with all producers and importers of paper and paper products in Slovakia contributing.
