About every 10th Slovak does not live at their permanent residence, according to the Institute for Financial Policy analysis.
The total number of those with different permanent and temporary addresses is as high as 461,000.
Of them, a huge portion – about 66,000 – actually live in Bratislava, which is reflected in the number of cars parked in the capital, among other things. With altogether 33,000 vehicles that commute to the capital every day from nearby municipalities, the number of cars in the city was one of the reasons Bratislava introduced a new parking policy.
In short, the new parking policy provides owners of vehicles with a permanent residence in Bratislava with significant benefits. The pilot operation starts in the Petržalka borough in November.
