Pulp and paper plant opens Sept. 21 in Ružomberok

A new pulp and paper plant was opened at the cellulose factory SCP Ružomberok on September 21. The construction of the new works cost about 1 billion Sk ($28.57 million), of which 300 million Sk ($8.57 million) went on the building itself and the rest was spent on technology. The plant will reach full capacity next year, after reconstruction of the paper mill which was installed in 1964. Yearly production will then amount about 100,000 tons of high quality paper, which will be exported primarily to Western countries.
