INDIVIDUALS and companies earmarked Sk930 million (€24.8 million) of the taxes they paid last year for community purposes.
Under Slovak legislation, tax payers may request that two percent of their paid taxes be donated to NGOs and local organizations of their choosing. Corporate payers donated Sk618.3 million (€16.5 million) to these recipients last year of the total Sk42.7 billion (€1.1 billion) they paid.
