The Slovak central bank (NBS) said on October 16 its foreign exchange reserves rose to $2.99 billion on October 14 from $2.94 billion on October 7. The bank's reserves had been under severe pressure until it decided to abolish the fluctuation band for the Slovak crown on October 1.
