Slovak corporates registered a massive 318 billion Sk ($9.1 billion) in receivables for the first half of 1998, the Statistical Office said on October 20. The figure is the result of a permanent increase in liabilities beyond the due date for their payment: these liablities now sit at 444 billion Sk ($12.1 billiion). The receivables figure represents a 12% increase since the beginning of the year, while liabilities have been steady for six months. Receivables in arrears of their payment date have increased 11.2% since January 1, while liabilities in arrears have risen 4.1% in the same period.
