Top officials of Slovakia's 17 leading firms dealing with energy, electrical technology and machinery left for Pavlodar and Astane, industrial centres of Kazakhstan, on October 3 to create new trade contacts.
The mission was organised by the Banská Bystrica-based Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RK SOPK) in cooperation with the Slovak Economy Ministry and the Foreign Trade Support Fund.
According to Daniel Lešták, an RK SOPK official, about 30 Slovak companies were interested in taking part in the mission. Some of them, however, could not be accepted due to organisational reasons.
The RK SOPK has already ratified a cooperation agreement in the industrial sector with the Pavlodar Local Chamber of Industry, and it has also set up trade contacts with the Kazakhstan capital Alma-Ata.
